Venerable Dawa Yangchen is the spiritual leader and program facilitator of Meditation in the Shire Inc.

Venerable Yangchen became ordained in Sydney in June 2003 as a Getsal Nun in the Gelupka tradition.

Venerable Yangchen studies with the Vajrayana Institute which is a Branch of the "Federation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition" (FPMT).

The Spiritual leader of the FPMT is Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

 

Ven Robina Courtin visits the Shire!

We are very blessed indeed to have Ven Robina Courtin visit us in the Shire.   Robina is a Buddhist nun in the Tibetan Buddhist Gelugpa tradition and the lineage of Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche.  In 1996 she founded Liberation Prison Project, which she ran until 2009.  Her work has been featured in two documentary films, Christine Lundberg's On the Road Home (1988) and Amiel Courtin-Wilson's Chasing Buddha (2000).  She has often been seen in several episodes of Compass.

Would you like to just forget about your problems, those economic woes or just have a beautiful relaxing day to yourself?   You can!  Meditation in the Shire is running a One Day Meditation Retreat at beautiful Bundeena on Sunday, 18th March commencing early at 8 am and finishing 3.30 pm.    The day will be in silence, bring your own lunch, sunscreen, hat, etc.   Full particulars are on the Website www.meditationintheshire.com/meditation-retreats.
